Chia Tai Company Limited case study

Who is the customer

Chia Tai Company Limited is one of Thailand’s oldest and most respected agricultural companies, specialising in seed technology, plant nutrition, crop protection and sustainable food production. As part of the Charoen Pokphand Group ecosystem, Chia Tai operates across multiple countries in Asia and contributes to agricultural innovation and food security.

To support its vision for smart agriculture and modern knowledge management, Chia Tai worked with Go Digit to explore and implement a Generative AI solution for agricultural expertise, R&D knowledge and supplier information.

The challenge

The challenge for Chia Tai R&D and procurement teams

Chia Tai’s R&D, procurement and technical support teams managed large volumes of agricultural research, supplier records, product manuals, scanned invoices, planting guidance and regional regulatory information across different repositories and formats.

Key challenges included:

  • Finding relevant insights in multilingual technical documents and research reports.
  • Manual document lookup slowing down R&D and procurement operations.
  • Knowledge transfer across regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Processing scanned supplier documents and invoices by hand.
  • Maintaining consistent access to updated agricultural guidance.
  • Reducing delays in product development and operational decision-making.

Chia Tai needed a secure, scalable AI solution that could centralise information access, improve document retrieval and automate repetitive workflows without compromising enterprise governance.

The solution

Go Digit implemented ChatX for Chia Tai

Go Digit implemented ChatX, an enterprise Generative AI platform for Chia Tai’s R&D knowledge management and supplier document intelligence workflows.

The solution runs on AWS with a Retrieval-Augmented Generation architecture, allowing users to ask questions in natural language and receive answers grounded in multilingual agricultural documents.

Key AWS services and technologies included:

  • Amazon Bedrock for Generative AI reasoning and multilingual responses.
  • Amazon OpenSearch Serverless for semantic search and vector indexing.
  • Amazon ECS on AWS Fargate for scalable ChatX services.
  • AWS Lambda for OCR processing and document extraction.
  • Amazon S3 for secure research and supplier document storage.
  • Amazon SQS and AWS Step Functions for workflow automation.
  • AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail for monitoring, logging and auditability.

The platform connects securely with internal ERP and Data Lake systems through private networking and VPC Peering to support enterprise security and governance.

Core capabilities delivered:

  • An AI assistant for R&D, procurement and technical support teams.
  • Multilingual retrieval across Thai, English and Chinese content.
  • Semantic search across agricultural research and supplier records.
  • OCR extraction from scanned invoices and PDF files.
  • Automated support for supplier approval workflows.
  • Secure role-based access for different operational teams.
