Chia Tai Company Limited
Who is Customer
Chia Tai Company Limited is one of Thailand’s oldest and most respected agricultural companies, specializing in seed technology, plant nutrition, crop protection, and sustainable food production. As part of the Charoen Pokphand Group ecosystem, Chia Tai operates across multiple countries in Asia and plays a significant role in advancing agricultural innovation and food security.
To support its vision for smart agriculture and modern knowledge management, Chia Tai partnered with Go Digit to explore and implement a Generative AI solution capable of improving access to agricultural expertise, R&D knowledge, and supplier-related information across multilingual teams.
The Challenge
Chia Tai’s R&D, procurement, and technical support teams managed large volumes of agricultural research documents, supplier records, product manuals, scanned invoices, planting guidelines, and regional regulatory information distributed across multiple repositories and formats.
Key challenges included:
- Difficulty retrieving insights from multilingual technical documents and research reports
- Manual document lookup processes slowing down R&D and procurement operations
- Challenges in knowledge transfer across regional and cross-functional teams
- Time-consuming processing of scanned supplier documents and invoices
- Inconsistent access to updated agricultural guidance and technical information
- Risk of slower product development cycles and reduced operational agility
As agricultural knowledge and compliance requirements continued to evolve, Chia Tai required a secure and scalable AI-powered solution that could centralize information access, improve document retrieval accuracy, and automate repetitive workflows.
The Solution
Go Digit implemented ChatX, an enterprise-grade Generative AI platform designed to support Chia Tai’s R&D knowledge management and supplier document intelligence workflows.
The solution was built on AWS using a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture to enable users to retrieve accurate, document-grounded answers from multilingual agricultural content in natural language.
Key AWS services and technologies included:
- Amazon Bedrock for Generative AI reasoning and multilingual response generation
- Amazon OpenSearch Serverless for semantic search and vector indexing
- Amazon ECS on AWS Fargate for scalable deployment of ChatX services
- AWS Lambda for OCR processing and automated document extraction
- Amazon S3 for secure storage of research and supplier documents
- Amazon SQS and AWS Step Functions for workflow automation
- AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail for monitoring, logging, and compliance auditing
The platform was integrated securely with internal ERP and Data Lake systems through private networking and VPC Peering to maintain enterprise-grade security and governance.
Core capabilities delivered:
- AI-powered assistant for R&D, procurement, and technical support teams
- Multilingual document retrieval across Thai, English, and Chinese content
- Semantic search across agricultural research documents and supplier records
- OCR-based extraction of scanned invoices and PDF files
- Automated supplier approval workflow support
- Secure role-based access control for different operational teams
The Benefits
By deploying ChatX on AWS, Chia Tai improved operational efficiency, accelerated knowledge access, and enhanced collaboration across technical and business teams.
Business outcomes included:
- Faster retrieval of agricultural knowledge and research insights
- Reduced operational delays in procurement and supplier approval workflows
- Improved consistency of technical guidance across regions and teams
- Enhanced productivity for R&D and procurement personnel
- Reduced manual effort in processing scanned supplier documents and invoices
- Improved knowledge sharing across multilingual teams and regional operations
Technical benefits included:
- Secure enterprise AI deployment integrated with internal ERP environments
- Scalable AWS-native architecture capable of supporting growing knowledge repositories
- Improved traceability and auditability for supplier and research workflows
- Faster onboarding and knowledge transfer through centralized AI-powered access
- Lower operational overhead through automated document ingestion and managed AWS services
The project demonstrates how Generative AI on AWS can modernize agricultural knowledge management, improve operational agility, and support enterprise-scale innovation in the agriculture and food sustainability sector.
